WWE legend Ric Flair has asked fans to pray for his fiancée Wendy Barlow after she was rushed to hospital following a "serious" car accident.

Nature Boy revealed the tragic news on Twitter on Tuesday night (25 April) as he hopes for her speedy recovery.

"Please Pray for my Fiancé who was just in a serious car wreck. She is at the Hospital," he wrote. Flair, however, did not reveal Barlow's condition nor did he reveal anything else about the accident.

Soon after WWE Hall of Famer made the revelation, fans came to his support and offered prayers.

"Lord, Allow Your healing Hand to heal Ric's Fiance [fiancée]. Touch her soul with ur compassion for others; touch his heart with Your courage...AMEN," one fan wrote, while another said, "Keeping you, her and your families in my thoughts and prayers."

The 68-year-old had proposed to Barlow – his former WCW manager – in July 2016 after dating her for three years. Flair divorced his fourth wife in 2012. Barlow played Flair's French maid Fifi and assisted him on his Flair For The Gold talk show and walked him out to the ring before his fights.

Barlow's accident comes just a month after Jim Ross's wife Jan suffered a serious brain injury and multiple fractures to her skull in a road accident and died. She was 55 years old.

The WWE Hall of Famer announced the death of his wife on Twitter. He said, "A Priest gave my wife Jan her last rites tonight. My little Angel is gone."
