Rihanna Shooting Incident: Chilling Social Media Posts Reveal Suspect's Obsession With Popstar
Police say Ivana Lisette Ortiz's Facebook posts targeted the singer with unverified accusations just weeks before the alleged attack.

Rihanna was at home in Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon when police say a woman in a white Tesla opened fire on her £11 million mansion with an AR‑15‑style rifle, an attack that has led investigators to a trail of obsessive social media posts targeting the singer.
For context, Los Angeles officers were called shortly after 1 p.m. to Rihanna's gated property in the upscale Beverly Hills Post Office area, where radio dispatch recordings suggest around 10 shots were fired from a car parked across the street.
One bullet is said to have penetrated a wall of the home she shares with rapper A$AP Rocky, though no injuries were reported and police later confirmed the star was unharmed. The suspect drove away but was tracked by helicopter to a shopping centre car park and arrested within about half an hour.
Shooting Incident Tied to Online Fixation
Officers have identified the suspect as 35‑year‑old Ivana (also reported as Ivanna) Lisette Ortiz, a Florida woman who has been booked on attempted murder charges and is being held on bail of just over $10 million.
Arrest records cited in local coverage put the figure at $10,225,000, reflecting the seriousness with which authorities are treating the alleged attack on Rihanna's home. Police say four rounds or fragments hit parts of the property, including the front gate and a vehicle outside, while at least two neighbouring homes on the block were also left with bullet damage.

The news came after online sleuths and US outlets began piecing together a series of disturbing posts apparently made by Ortiz in the weeks before the shooting, many of them centred on Rihanna and other high‑profile celebrities.
Screenshots reported by the New York Post show a Facebook message dated Feb. 23 in which Ortiz appears to address the singer directly, tagging her handle and writing, '@badgalriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I'm not at.' There is no evidence for any of the claims in that post, and authorities have not suggested it forms part of a formal motive at this stage.

Fans have also uncovered that she's a hardcore fan of Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In another post from Feb. 17, she allegedly shared an image of Drake with a caption reading 'When Drake found out Rihanna has AIDS' and the hashtag '#champagnepapi.'
A further video circulating in reports shows a woman believed to be Ortiz, wearing a blonde wig and American flag shorts, speaking into a mirror and saying: 'You can't f*** with me, Cardi B... But you know who has the cutest outfit tonight? I am.'
An earlier message from Dec. 20, again attributed to Ortiz, suggested she was 'already through with Rihanna' and turned her attention to reality star Kim Kardashian. 'I restricted that stupid b***h Kim Kardashian. Your turn hiding bitch, stop begging for a look,' the post read, in language that underlines both the aggression and the fixation that appear to run through her online activity. Investigators have not publicly linked these messages to a clear theory of why Rihanna's property was later targeted, and the LAPD has so far declined to set out a detailed narrative of the suspect's state of mind.

Shooting Incident Leaves Questions Over Motive
Initially, police described the shooter only as a woman in her 30s before confirming Ortiz's identity on Monday, saying she came to California from Florida and had previously been arrested in her home state. NBC News reported that she allegedly used an AR‑15‑style weapon and that four shots or fragments struck different parts of the property, while a law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times that at least one round pierced a wall of the mansion.
A source close to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky told the New York Post the couple 'do not know much' about Ortiz or why she might have chosen their home, but said they were 'doing okay' in the aftermath.

Representatives for Rihanna have not issued a detailed public statement, and police have explicitly said that a motive has not yet been determined, leaving much of the speculation about Ortiz's intentions in the realm of conjecture.
What can be said with certainty is that the alleged attack fits a grim pattern of boundary‑breaking behaviour faced by global stars whose private addresses become semi‑public landmarks, despite security gates and camera systems.
In this case, officers responded quickly enough to prevent any physical harm, but the combination of high‑powered weaponry, an occupied family home and an apparent build‑up of hostile online messaging will raise uncomfortable questions about how threats are assessed before they escalate.
For now, nothing is confirmed about Ortiz's mental state or exact motivations, so details of her posts and past should be treated with caution until more information emerges through the courts and official records.
