6 Photos of Ivanna Ortiz: Rihanna Shooter's Obsession Turned Dangerous When She Opened Fire at LA Home
The attempted murder suspect accused of targeting Rihanna's Beverly Hills estate was previously named the primary aggressor in a violent domestic dispute.

A 35-year-old woman charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing an assault-style rifle at the Los Angeles residence of the singer Rihanna has a prior arrest record for domestic violence, according to police documents.
Ivanna Ortiz is accused of discharging approximately 10 rounds at the Beverly Hills property on Sunday afternoon. Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky and their three young children were unharmed in the attack. The gunfire capped off a string of troubling social media posts reflecting a growing obsession Ortiz had recently directed at the singer.

Los Angeles Police Department officers arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. Authorities allege she used an AR-15-style rifle to carry out the attack, firing from a vehicle parked across the street from the mansion before fleeing the scene.
This latest attempted murder charge is not her first run-in with police. Documents from the Orlando Police Department show officers arrested Ortiz for domestic battery in June 2023. The incident took place outside her Florida apartment during an escalating row with her ex-husband, named in the report as John Doe.

Ivanna Ortiz Arrested Over Florida Domestic Battery
The report states that Doe and Ortiz had arranged via text message for him to drop their child off at her residence. The exchange deteriorated when Ortiz warned him not to be late.
An officer who reviewed Doe's mobile phone documented that Ortiz sent a message reading: 'You'll be getting socked on the nose tonight.' Minutes later, she reportedly added: 'What's it going to be twin, your [sic] calling the shots tonight and I'm throwing punches.'
The officer noted that Doe made no retaliatory threats. He reportedly stated only his desire to raise their daughter peacefully.

When Doe arrived at the property, he began recording the encounter on his mobile phone. According to his statement, Ortiz opened the door and directed a derogatory slur at him, initiating a verbal dispute.
Doe instructed their daughter to leave with him and turned away, at which point Ortiz allegedly lunged for his device. Doe claimed he pushed Ortiz away after she missed the phone and lunged a second time. She reportedly fell to the ground, stood back up, and began throwing punches.
Doe told officers he pushed her away again and held her down while repeatedly asking her to stop, until a neighbour heard the commotion and intervened. Following the separation, Doe dialled 911, and responding officers noted a visible scratch on his face.
Police Name Ivanna Ortiz As Primary Aggressor
Officers also interviewed the young daughter at the scene. They observed that she was crying to the point of hyperventilating, repeatedly telling police she did not want anyone to get into trouble or go to jail.
Ortiz provided a conflicting narrative, telling police that Doe provoked her upon his arrival. She claimed he struck her with the phone, pushed her to the ground, pulled her hair, and placed a hand on her neck.
However, she admitted he used his hand to subdue rather than choke her, arguing she only threw punches in self-defence. The investigating officer dismissed this claim, writing in the official report: 'I find Ivanna Ortiz to be the primary aggressor of the above incident.' The child was subsequently left in Doe's custody.
Three months later, Ortiz was arrested again for allegedly violating pretrial release conditions connected to the battery case. Court records indicate she was also cited for careless driving in September 2021.
