Samsung has begun sending out invites for a press event scheduled for 2 June in New York to "experience how Samsung's devices work together to create a Galaxy of possibility". Like always, the invite does not contain any details about the product, but the second generation Gear Fit fitness tracking band and a pair of Bluetooth earbuds are highly likely at the event.

The new fitness tracker dubbed Gear Fit 2 has made several appearances through leaks. Sammobile has just shared exclusive details of the smartband revealing all its hardware features. According to the latest disclosure, the Gear Fit 2 will have a 1.55in curved Super AMOLED display with resolution at 216 x 432 pixels.

A dual-core 1GHz processor by Samsung would power the wearable device, while paired with 512MB RAM. It would be resistant to water and dust with IP68 certification and offer 2GB internal storage.

A 2000mAh battery would be under the hood generating power for the device. Other key features are Tizen 2.3 operating system and a host of sensors such as heart rate sensor, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer, in addition to GPS and Glonass.

The Bluetooth earbuds called Gear IconX would be dust and water resistant and are housed in a charging case. They contain 4GB flash memory storage. Their function is similar to that of the Gear Circle, a Bluetooth headset.
