A woman has been arrested in Utah and is facing charges of kidnapping, robbery and sexual abuse following accusations that she repeatedly punched a man she had dated in the groin.

Savannah "Bambam" Rios, 24, allegedly confronted the man in Salt Lake City after he accused her of taking some of his belongings.

The victim, who has been identified only by the initials GA, said she slapped him several times, pulled a knife on him and asked: "You wanna die?"

Rios is reported to have ordered him to take off his clothes. She then grabbed his belt, wrapped it around her fist and punched him several times in the testicles.

The man was allowed to get dressed and they drove to his home, where she stole electronics, including a DVD player, camera and mobile phones. Along the way, she occasionally jabbed at him with the knife.

They then drove to a cashpoint, where he was forced to withdraw $500 (£325). He managed to escape and ran to a police station.

Police found Rios still sitting in the victim's car when they made their arrest.

She has been jailed on $100,000 bail.

The man's injuries were not said to be life-threatening.

No information was offered as to how Rios got the nickname "Bambam".
