The midseason finale of Scandal season 4 is here and fans are really looking forward to an explosive episode before the show goes on a winter break.

The upcoming episode 9 of Scandal season 4, titled Where the Sun Don't Shine will take Olivia Pope's family troubles to a whole new level altogether. Not only has her dangerous and deadly father Rowan Pope escaped from her clutches, her terrorist mother Maya Pope is set to return after being imprisoned for years.

According to the official synopsis of episode 9, "Command is always two steps ahead and everyone in Olivia's life is in danger. Meanwhile, Cyrus is forced to face the consequences of his behavior, and Huck and Quinn finally figure out just what Elizabeth North has been planning, but they might be too late to stop it."

Fans are expecting an explosive confrontation between Olivia and her mother. "Will Maya wreak havoc to avenge all her years in prison? How will Olivia react when she finds out her mother is back on the streets?" speculates a Fashionnstyle.com report.

However, Olivia's parents won't be the only ones on the loose and looking for blood. The midseason finale episode promo suggests that Olivia's life may be in danger and she turns to Jake for one-on-one shooting lessons.

"I want a kill shot," Olivia says in the sneak peek.
