'So Disappointing': Why Some Slipknot Fans Don't Want Marilyn Manson as Support Act on 2027 Stadium Tour
Manson is due to join Slipknot at Wembley Stadium and South American dates, prompting backlash linked to abuse allegations he denies

Slipknot fans have reacted angrily to the announcement that Marilyn Manson will join the heavy metal band as a supporting act on part of their 2027 stadium tour. Some are already saying they will skip the shows, with fans describing the lineup as 'so disappointing' and vowing not to attend dates featuring Manson.
The backlash follows Slipknot's announcement of their upcoming stadium run, which includes dates across South America and a major performance at London's Wembley Stadium. Manson is scheduled to appear alongside Slipknot at Wembley, as well as on the band's South American dates.
Slipknot Fans React to Marilyn Manson Announcement
For some longtime Slipknot supporters, the addition of Manson has overshadowed the excitement surrounding the band's return to stadiums. Several fans left comments under the band's Instagram post about the Wembley show and expressed their disappointment.
'As the biggest ex Manson fan in the world, what the HELL. This is so disappointing,' one fan wrote. 'What a shame, I was looking forward seeing Slipknot for the first time... But with Manson present I prefer to stay home,' another comment read.
Why Are Fans Objecting to Marilyn Manson?
The controversy surrounding Manson stems primarily from abuse allegations made against him in 2021. Actor Evan Rachel Wood, Manson's former fiancée, publicly accused the musician of grooming her when she was a teenager and alleged that he subjected her to years of physical and sexual abuse. Following Wood's allegations, more than a dozen other women came forward with allegations of abuse against Manson.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has consistently denied the allegations. He described the claims as 'horrible distortions of reality' and said his intimate relationships had been consensual. He also filed a defamation lawsuit against Wood, but a Los Angeles judge dismissed key portions of the case in 2023.
The allegations themselves should not be treated as established findings of wrongdoing. It is this history that has prompted some Slipknot fans to object to Manson being given a prominent platform on the band's stadium tour.
Fans Threaten To Boycott Shows
For disappointed fans, the issue is not simply whether Manson will perform. Several commenters said they would refuse to buy tickets or financially support concerts where he appears. One fan said they would have attended the tour if Manson had not been included, while another questioned the decision by Slipknot and the people involved in putting the lineup together.
The reaction highlights the difficult position major artists can face when controversial performers are included on large-scale tours. Support acts can introduce artists to new audiences, but they can also become a source of controversy when fans strongly object to the choice.
For now, neither Slipknot nor Marilyn Manson have responded to the fans' comments on social media. Likewise, it appears that the lineup for Slipknot's (sic)est Stadium Tour has not been updated or altered, at least for now.
What Is Planned for Slipknot's 2027 Tour?
The tour is being billed as the band's 'ultimate Slipknot experience to date', promising a new set, new staging and songs spanning the group's career. The Wembley Stadium concert is scheduled for 3 July 2027, with Manson, Lorna Shore and Hatebreed announced as support.
The wider tour includes dates across the United States, Canada and South America, with other opening acts varying from show to show. Other support acts across the tour include Bring Me The Horizon, Lamb of God, Acid Bath, Kublai Khan TX, and more metal acts.
Slipknot's 2027 return therefore arrives with considerable anticipation, but also a controversy that the band may have to address as ticket sales progress. For the fans who have made their position clear online, the message is straightforward: they are excited to see Slipknot, but do not want Marilyn Manson on the bill.
