The latest episode of SmackDown Live was aired from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 13 September. The main card of the event saw John Cena and Dean Ambrose square off against AJ Styles and The Miz, while in another featured match The Ascension took on Rhyno and Heath Slater for the WWE SmackDown tag team title.

John Cena and Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles and The Miz

John Cena made his comeback when he teamed up with Dean Ambrose to fight WWE world champion AJ Styles and The Miz. The match was exciting from the start. However, in the end Cena and Ambrose defeated Styles and The Miz when Cena carried out the AA on the latter for the win.

Subsequently, Shane McMahon announced Cena and Ambrose as the number one contenders to challenge Styles in the triple threat match at WWE No Mercy next month.

The Ascension vs Rhyno and Heath Slater (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title Match)

Konnor and Viktor were on top of Rhyno and Heath Slater at the start of the match. However, Rhyno and Slater came out on top when the former nailed a Gore on Viktor for the win.

Fatal 5 Way for the #1 Contendership (women)

Naomi, Nikki Bella, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Carmella went head-on as soon as the bell rang, but in the end, out of the five divas, Bliss emerged victorious when she dumped Carmella to the floor and pinned.

The Hype Bros vs The Usos

The momentum of the fight shifted back and forth between the two sides. However, during the middle of the match Jey Uso distracted the referee, which allowed Jimmy Uno to carry out a big superkick on Hype Bros's Mojo Rawley. Next, Jey got the tag and nailed a top rope splash for the win

Baron Corbin vs Apollo Crews

The match never started as Baron Corbin attacked Apollo Crews from behind. Corbin destroyed Crews when he carried out The End of Days. As son as this happened, Jack Swagger came out to confront Corbin, but the latter quickly left the ring.
