Sony has started seeding Android's latest 6.0.1 Marshmallow to Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The update comes after a few days of the company rolling out the Marshmallow update to some of Sony's older Xperia devices which did not include the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet.

The update rolling out carries build number 23.5.A.0.570 to both LTE (SGP621, SGP641) and Wi-Fi (SGP611, SGP612) variants of the tablet.

Last week Sony rolled out the Marshmallow update to the Xperia Z3 Dual and Xperia Z2 Tablet. Prior to that, Sony seeded the Marshmallow update to its flagship devices like the Xperia Z5, Z5 compact and even its older devices Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3.

The Marshmallow update brings an array of features like Doze Mode, granular app permissions and Google Now on Tap. In addition, Sony devices are receiving a new camera interface, Xperia Messaging with sticker support and Direct Share for relaying activities to friends.

As per Google's official numbers, in the beginning of April only 4.6% of active Android devices are currently running on the Marshmallow version. The majority of users are still stuck at Lollipop or KitKat versions mainly because many manufacturers have still not seeded the Marshmallow versions to their devices even though they may be eligible to receive the update.
