Stoke City v Liverpool

Britannia Stadium

Kick-off: 1500 BST

Last season: Stoke 2 0 Liverpool

Peter Crouch is in line to make his Stoke debut against his former club, while Craig Bellamy is expected to start from the bench for Liverpool as they travel to Stoke in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.

Both sides remain unbeaten having spent significantly this summer. Stoke manager Tony Pulis paid Tottenham £10m for Crouch, with Cameron Jerome and Wilson Palacios also joining the Staffordshire outfit on deadline day.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will name Craig Bellamy amongst his substitutes for the away trip. Bellamy joined Liverpool from Manchester City on a free transfer on the last day of the transfer window to complete Kenny Dalglish's £60m summer rebuild.

Pulis is without Marc Wilson and Rory Delap (both hamstring) but the Potters boss will hope his new signings can help to maintain their unbeaten season in the Premier League and Europa League.

Glen Johnson could return for Liverpool following a hamstring injury that has side-lined him all season but Dalglish is still without captain Steven Gerrard as he struggles to overcome a groin injury sustained in March. Charlie Adam (hip) and Martin Kelly (hamstring) will also be assessed ahead of kick-off but Dalglish remains confident his side can continue their good start to the new campaign.

We know what we're going to be up against, which isn't a problem as far as I'm concerned," he said. "I'm not going to dictate to anybody or preach to anybody how they should play. It's their football club and Tony Pulis runs it brilliantly.

"They've got into Europe this year and they've got a style of play that suits them very well – and it's a great credit to them that they have done so well. It's up to us to compete against them."
