Australia and Bangladesh face off in the Super 10 stage of the World T20 in Bangalore knowing that defeat will probably end their hopes of progressing to the semi-finals. Australia, world champions in the 50-over format, stumbled to an eight-run defeat against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in Dharamsala on 18 March. Steve Smith's side are priced at 1/8 by Betfair to beat Bangladesh and get their World T20 campaign back on track.
Bangladesh carried momentum into their opening World T20 match against Pakistan after a laudable showing in the Asia Cup, but lost to their archrivals by 55 runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Mashrafe Mortaza's side were dealt a major blow by the ICC suspending Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny for illegal bowling actions before the start of the tournament. They are placed at 9/2 to pull off an upset.
Opener Usman Khawaja, who top scored for Australia against New Zealand with 38, is backed at 5/2 to repeat the feat against Bangladesh, the same price as Aaron Finch. Shane Watson is priced at 14/5, while captain Steve Smith is at 10/3.
All-rounder Sabbir Rahman is placed at 10/3 to top the run charts for Bangladesh. Elegant left-hander Soumya Sarkar is backed at 4, with wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim at 6 and Mahmudullah at 13/2.
