Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for AS Monaco striker Anthony Martial, and have reportedly made a £15.8m bid to land the French striker from the Ligue 1 club.

According to the Express, the young Frenchman is keen to move on as he feels that his career is stalling and has found it hard to get regular game time with the first team squad.

Mauricio Pochettino is in the process of overhauling the Spurs squad, and has already made three signings but has mainly focused on strengthening the defense and is yet to make any offensive signing for the club.

The north London club have been linked to various strikers with reports suggesting that a player-plus-cash deal for PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay had been agreed. The Argentine manager needs to bring in forward reinforcements as the future of current forwards Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor remains uncertain.

The 18-year-old striker is a France U21 player has been dubbed the 'new Thierry Henry' due to his incredible pace and clinical finishing. He is also being tracked by German club Wolfsburg, but Spurs will be hoping that their £15.8m offer will be enough to land the striker ahead of the Bundesliga club.

Meanwhile, striker Harry Kane is looking forward to playing in front of their fans for the first time this season, when Spurs take on Bundesliga club Schalke in what will be their final pre-season friendly before the Premier League gets underway on 16 August.

"We're back in front of our fans for the first time, we want to put on a good show and impress everyone and then it's all about West Ham next weekend," Kane said, as quoted on Tottenham's official site.

"I'm sure it will be a competitive game with two teams seeing where they are in pre-season. We've been training well, we feel ready and it should be good.

"On a personal level it's been a good pre-season so far, I've played minutes, scored goals and hopefully I'll get another chance," the Spurs forward added.
