Gareth Bale is not worth €110m, according to Real Madrid legend Raul.

Tottenham have overestimated Gareth Bale's worth according to Real Madrid legend Raul, who claims that while he would bring a lot to the Spanish giants he shouldn't be so expensive.

Bale's transfer saga has been one of the most prominent stories this summer as the winger reportedly pushes for an exit from Spurs in the hopes of fulfilling his wish to play Champions League football.

Recent reports have claimed that Tottenham will accept a fee of around €110m for Bale, with a player possibly being a part of the deal.

Disagreements between Madrid and the north London club have led to a stalemate and Andre Villas-Boas has continually insisted that as it stands, Bale is staying at Tottenham.

And Raul, who is preparing to face Madrid in a friendly with current Qatari side Al Sadd, believes that Spurs are demanding too much for a player who is still young and somewhat unproven on the biggest stage.

"He's a brilliant player and would bring a lot to Madrid, but he's very expensive," he told AS. "Tottenham have overestimated his price."

With one win on the board for Tottenham so far this season the side will be looking to shore up Bale's future as quickly as possible in case they are left with money to burn but with no players available on deadline day.

The club are already believed to be actively pursuing Brazilian winger Willian and have submitted a bid alongside Liverpool for the 25 year old in the hopes of having options if Bale does in fact leave.

The Wales international didn't feature in Tottenham's win over Crystal Palace, and will not be in Villas-Boas' plans for the side's Europa League qualifying game against Dinamo Tbilisi or their match up with Swansea this weekend.
