All the latest transfer rumours from Liverpool as the club are linked with moves for Scott Dann, Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique and Joey Barton.

Reports in the English press have claimed that Liverpool is ready to continue their spending spree by offering Bolton the full buyout clause for Gary Cahill. It was believed that Arsenal and Manchester City were interested in the defender but have been unwilling to meet Bolton's valuation of the player. Liverpool is determined to sign an English defender this summer after losing out on Phil Jones who signed for Manchester United in July.

Liverpool are set to rival Arsenals bid for Birmingham defender Scott Dann. Kenny Dalglish has been looking for a centre half all summer and has highlighted Dann as the man to help his side stop leaking goals. Arsenal are said to want to sign the defender and the two clubs will go head to head over the next week. Dann is said to be both managers top priority with Liverpool ready to meet the £10m valuation.

Liverpool is the shock contenders in the race to sign Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton. The midfielder has been told he can leave St James' Park for free after a number of twitter rants that saw the player criticise the clubs owners. Barton is controversial but highly regarded by Dalglish and will look to meet the player's representatives next week to discuss a possible deal.

The Evening Chronicle has claimed Liverpool have now become shock contenders to sign a player who is a boyhood fan of arch rivals Everton. The Anfield club will be without their talismanic midfielder Steven Gerrard until September with the captain suffering from an infection which will keep him out for the beginning of the season. Kenny Dalglish is reportedly interested in Barton as the ideal cover for Gerrard.

Liverpool are said to be close but have not yet agreed a deal to sign Newcastle left back Jose Enrique. Reports on Wednesday claimed that the two clubs had agreed a fee, something Liverpool has denied. Dalglish is keen on signing Enrique and sees the Spanish left back as the final piece of the jigsaw as he builds his new look team to challenge for the Premier League trophy next season.

Enrique has one year left on his current contract and Dalglish is keen to sign the player before the second week of the Premier League season. The 25-year-old former Villarreal star would jump at the chance to join the Reds and is hoping a fee can be agreed with the Magpies.
