Coleen Rooney has announced that she and her footballer husband Wayne are preparing to welcome another baby boy.

The 27-year-old presenter and columnist, who is pregnant with her second child, revealed the sex on Twitter earlier this week.

She told her 900,000 followers: "Absolutely loved seeing our baby on the scan yesterday!!! We decided to find out the sex...... It's a ..... BOY!! So exciting @WayneRooney."

The couple, who have been married since 2008, are already parents to three-year-old Kai.

Following the news, fans and celebrities alike quickly flocked online to congratulate the duo.

Fellow footballer's wife Danielle O'Hara said: "@ColeenRoo congrats babe 2 boys will be amazing they will be best mates my 2 just love having each other to play with & there so loving."

In 2011, Rooney, who comes from a devout Catholic family in Liverpool, hinted that the couple planned to expand their brood.

"I'd like to have maybe three or four children," she said. "I would be happy to be a fulltime mum."
