A Sao Paulo-bound Turkish airlines flight from Istanbul has landed in Casablanca after declaring emergency for a bomb threat.

A press office for the airliner said a note was found at the plane's toilet cabin reading "Bomb on TK15".

The Boeing 777, which departed from Istanbul at 9.30am (local time) carrying 256 passengers, has landed safely in Casablanca, according to reports.

The passengers were being evacuated and security teams are set to search the plane to find any explosives.

"The necessary investigation on board is continuing and the decision concerning the continuation of the flight to Sao Paolo will be decided according the result of such investigation," Ali Genc, Turkish Airlines' senior vice-president for media relations told IBTimes UK.
