Tyler Perry is putting one seriously star-studded piece of California real estate on the market. The actor, filmmaker, and studio head, known for creating the Madea character and franchise, has listed his sprawling Beverly Hills estate for $57M.

The property is where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stayed after relocating from Canada to California in 2020. The listing comes as Perry prepares to move to Puerto Rico and scale back his work schedule.

Inside the 22.5-Acre Beverly Hills Compound

Set inside the gated Beverly Ridge Estates community, the property spans 22.5 acres and centres on a roughly 24,500-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion. The eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom residence features a library, expansive entertaining spaces, a swimming pool, and fountain. A separate one-bedroom guesthouse and staff quarters are also part of the compound.

Perry bought the 22.5-acre parcel for $4.3M in 2004 and spent years developing the estate, with construction of the main residence completed in 2012. The estate has also hosted a number of high-profile guests. Architectural Digest has reported visits from Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, among other celebrities.

Harry and Meghan Found a Temporary Home There

Perry opened his home to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in early 2020 after they stepped back from royal duties, allowing the couple and their son Archie to stay at his California property for several months. Meghan later explained that Perry provided the couple with both a home and security during the transition. 'We needed a house, and he offered security as well,' she said in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The couple eventually bought their own home in Montecito, California. Despite their 2026 move to the UK, recent reports say the couple has no immediate plans to sell or rent out their Montecito home.

Perry Is Selling Another $39.5M Retreat

The Beverly Hills estate is not Perry's only luxury property currently on the market. In June, he listed his Jackson Hole, Wyoming, retreat for $39.5M. The roughly 10,988-square-foot custom log home sits on 37.62 acres, according to The Wall Street Journal. Combined, the two properties have an asking price of $96.5M.

Perry still has significant real estate holdings beyond the properties currently on the market, including a large estate near Atlanta, the 330-acre Tyler Perry Studios complex, and a private island in the Bahamas.

A New Chapter in Puerto Rico

The listing comes as Perry prepares to move to Puerto Rico and scale back his work schedule. During a 14 September appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, the 57-year-old said he plans to move to Puerto Rico at the beginning of 2027 and significantly reduce his workload.

'Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I'm pulling back a whole lot,' Perry said. Perry said getting older had prompted him to reconsider his priorities, adding that it was 'time to slow down a bit' and spend more time with his son.

Perry rose to fame through his Madea franchise, which has grossed more than $660M. He began his career in live theatre in the 1990s before expanding into film and television, eventually building a substantial entertainment business around content he owns. In 2019, he opened Tyler Perry Studios, a 330-acre production complex in Atlanta with 12 sound stages and elaborate sets, including a to-scale replica of the White House.
