11 people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in a shed in Birmingham.

The man has not been formally identified, but is believed to be a 34-year-old from the Yardley area, who went missing on Thursday (21 May) at lunchtime.

His body was found in a shed at a home in Carlton Road, Bordesley Green, at around 11.30pm on Friday (22 May).

Detective Inspector Warren Hines confirmed 11 people are being questioned in relation to the man's death. These include five men aged 45, 33, 28, 24 and 23, four women aged 50, 41, 25 and 19, and two 15-year-old boys.

"We are currently treating his death as suspicious and we took swift action to arrest 11 people at the scene - who we believe were known to the man - on suspicion of his murder," he said.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time as we enter the very early stages of a murder inquiry."

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the victim's white Toyota Yaris car with the registration FM64 PHU.

The car was found about a mile away in Adderley Road on Friday (22 May).

A post-mortem examination will be held later.
