Manchester United have been handed a massive blow in their race to sign Arjen Robben in the summer transfer window after the attacker admitted that he is happy at Bayern Munich.

The Old Trafford club announced the Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal as their permanent manager for the next season. And since the appointment of the former Barcelona and Bayern boss, the Dutch international has been linked with a move to United.

The 30-year-old was one of the standout players for the German side as they did a domestic double by winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. He scored 15 goals and managed 10 assists from 33 appearances in these two competitions.

The former Chelsea man's form has seen him attract interest from the Red Devils. However, the Dutchman has put the recent rumours linking him with a move away from the Allianz Arena to bed, despite expressing his admiration for the new United boss.

"Manchester United? That's not an option. I am staying at Bayern Munich period. There's a zero per cent chance that I will join Manchester United," Robben told De Telegraaf.

"Van Gaal and [Pep] Guardiola are the best coaches I have ever worked with. I am feeling well and I'm going nowhere."

"And I cannot imagine that Bayern would want to sell me. I have only just renewed my contract and we are happy with each other. It would have been a different story had I been unhappy."

"I would have been open to a move then, because I had a great time under Van Gaal at Bayern. He has been very important for my career. However, fact is that I am very happy at my current club. I think United did great to appoint Van Gaal," the Bayern star concluded.

Robben's comments come just a day after another United target and the Dutch international's Bayern teammate Toni Kroos said that he would not leave the German outfit for the Red Devils.
