Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has heralded the arrival of Radamel Falcao as a fantastic signing, saying that the Colombian's loan spell at Old Trafford is a major statement of intent by the club.

The 28-year-old, speaking ahead of England's international friendly against Norway at Wembley, said that he was not sure where he would play in the Red Devils' new attacking line-up, adding that it was up to manager Louis van Gaal to decide how to play Rooney and Falcao together.
