Who Killed Charlie Kirk? Internet Is Blowing Up With Conspiracy Theories - Here's What People Are Saying

The FBI has issued an urgent appeal to the public to help identify a person of interest linked to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University on 10 September, sparking a nationwide manhunt.
Federal agents released two images of the potential suspect via an official X post, offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information. Within hours, the photos ignited an online firestorm, with amateur sleuths unearthing claims ranging from a private jet vanishing from radar to chilling posts that appeared to predict Kirk's death.
1. Private Jet Mystery Sparks Online Frenzy

One of the most widely discussed theories came from conservative commentator Candace Owens. She shared an X post alleging that a private jet left Provo Airport just one hour after the shooting but went 'off the grid' 30 minutes into its flight.
Owens acknowledged counter-arguments that the jet may have lost signal while flying over remote terrain, but she insisted her followers 'chase down every lead' and 'leave no stone unturned'. She even mentioned that a private jet pilot suggested that the transponder had, indeed, been deliberately shut down.
2. Cryptic X Post Hinted At Shooting

Another troubling clue came from a resurfaced screenshot of a Utah resident commenting on Kirk's arrival. The user ominously replied to their own post, stating that 'something big will happen' during his stay.
The cryptic remark quickly drew scrutiny. Some online users speculated that the hands of the suspect in the FBI's photo resembled those of the poster. The account later changed its username, with another person taking over the handle to stop it being hijacked for scams — but not before suspicions had already spread.
3. Soundcloud Track Predicted Kirk's Death

Perhaps the most chilling theory links the killing to a Soundcloud account. A user identified as Skye Valadez, reportedly based in Salt Lake City, uploaded a track more than a month ago that appeared to predict Charlie Kirk's assassination.
The song has since been removed, but determined users claim it can still be located through manual Google searches. The eerie coincidence has only intensified speculation that the murder may have been premeditated.
Same Person Behind It All?
Some 'online investigators' have drawn connections between the Soundcloud artist Skye and the X user Omar, whose earlier comments hinted at the shooting. Both reportedly share similar surnames, and their digital footprints suggest they may be the same person.
Speculation has also swirled around potential motives. Some users claimed the suspect could have been angered by Kirk's views on LGBTQ+ issues, pointing to Skye/Omar's she/her pronouns and self-presentation as evidence of a political grievance.
Despite the swirl of theories and online detective work, Kirk's killer remains at large. For now, the FBI's $100,000 reward stands as investigators sift through tips and digital leads in the hope of bringing the shooter to justice.
