Manchester United are interested in signing Crystal Palace and England winger Wilfried Zaha, according to chief-executive David Gill.

The 20 year old has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future at Selhurst Park, with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur heavily linked with his services.

Among those clubs to be linked with Zaha are the Premier League leaders and Gill admits the club have lodged interest in the winger but that a deal won't be done before the summer.

Wilfried Zaha
Zaha made his England debut in November last year.

"He's one of the players we're looking at and we'll see what happens," Gill said.

"There's a long way to go. But even if we did do something with Wilfried Zaha, that would be for the summer."

After Tweeting on Sunday, Zaha hinted he was set to join United by writing: "Looks like I'm on my way to the top of the premier league.

Zaha is among the hottest properties in The Championship, having scored five goals in 26 starts for Palace this season and earning his maiden England cap in the friendly with Sweden last November.

Former Eagles boss Dougie Freedman says Zaha's 'no fear' attitude makes him tailor-made for the top flight.

"Wilfried will play in the Premier League someday," the current Bolton Wanderers manager said. "Which club he goes to I don't really know but whichever one he ends up at will have one hell of a player.

"I found him at the age of 14 and he had a hunger and desire to make the first team then. So whichever side he goes into Wilf will settle down. He is a hard working young player and will produce the goods for United, City, Tottenham, Arsenal, whoever.

"He has a 'no fear' attitude when he goes on the pitch. He is a very shy man off it. But he could walk into a dressing room of established Premier League players and easily hold his own."

Portuguese winger Nani has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with the likes of Zenit St Petersburg understood to be interested, and the addition of Zaha would prospectively represent a replacement for the former Sporting Lisbon man at United
