Google's latest and greatest Android operating system has been ported to Xiaomi's older Mi 2 which runs Android with MIUI user interface.
A bunch of photos posted on the Chinese Microblogging site, Weibo via GSM Insider, show the Xiaomi Mi 2 running on Android 5.0. One photo shows the Android version under the about device information, although it does not reveal the baseband version.

However, the photos suggest that Android 5.0 is compatible with Xiaomi Mi 2. The network does not work in this port. Also, there is no information as to whether the Mi 2 in the photo has SIM card or not. This means the port might have features which are not working properly and not meant as a daily driver. Besides, like other manufacturers, Xiaomi has not confirmed Android 5.0 details for its smartphones.
