Agent Carter
Agent Carter season 2 will return on 19 January ABC

The synopsis of Marvel's Agent Carter season 2 has been released, hinting at a thrilling storyline based on the nuclear attack of World War II. The series will premiere in the third week of this month and will feature the action-filled adventures of agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) as she attempts to fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II.

The synopsis suggests that Peggy will be assigned with the "most dangerous and bizarre" case of her life for which she has to go to Los Angeles from New York to investigate a murder case involving a "glowing body".

"East Coast SSR Chief Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) sends Peggy to work with newly appointed West Coast SSR Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) to explore a strange homicide involving a body that glows and emanates cold," reads the synopsis via Screenrant.

The agent will eventually meet her partner-in-crime, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy) and his wife Ana (Lotte Verbeek) in the city. During her investigation into the strange murder case, Carter will find that the corruption runs deep inside the city, making it difficult for her to differentiate the friends from the enemies.

The synopsis also suggests that the Strategic Scientific Reserve agent will get attracted to charming scientist Jason Wilkes, who will help her with the investigation.

"Peggy to meet quirky yet charming scientist Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin), who quickly becomes an ally — and sparks fly. As Peggy continues to find clues in this peculiar case, she is introduced to the machinations of Whitney Frost (Wynn Everett), a movie starlet, brilliant physicist and the true power behind husband and senatorial candidate Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham). Calvin, a politician who will do anything to get to the top, befriends Vernon Masters (Kurtwood Smith), a veteran of the War Department with a keen understanding of how to work the system. Peggy soon discovers that corruption seemingly runs deep, making it hard to distinguish the good versus the bad," the synopsis continues.

Agent Carter season 2 will premiere on 19 January on ABC network. The special 2-hour premiere will air the first two episodes: The Lady in the Lake and A View in the Dark.
