The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for Samsung's current Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series smartphones is nearing.

Samsung's flagship devices, the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 3, will be the first ones to get the Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

GSMArena quotes a leaked document revealing the Android 4.4.3 update status for both the aforementioned devices.

Android 4.4.3 update with build numbers G900FXXUOBNE6 and G900HXXUOBNE3 for both the Snapdragon and Exynos variants of the Galaxy S5 bearing model numbers SM-G900F and SM-G900H respectively has been completed and is expected to be released by the end of this month.

As for the Galaxy Note 3, the update is under final testing and is likely to come next month. However, the veracity of the leaked document is yet to be confirmed, so the information needs to be treated with caution.

Besides, Google recently rolled out the Android 4.4.4 with build number KTU84P for its Nexus lineup. The over-the-air update brings several security fixes and a few are for the newly discovered OpenSSL bug.

So this again raises the question whether Samsung will release the Android 4.4.3 firmware for its Galaxy devices or skip the update in favour of the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

This is not the first leak as earlier an internal Samsung document leaked suggesting the Android 4.4.3 update for Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 LTE-A is under testing.
