Sony has started Android 5.1.1 rollout for Xperia Z2 Sony

Following Sony's announcement last week about the rollout of the latest Android Lollipop version, Xperia Z2 users are now reporting the update is live for them.

With Android version 5.1.1 and build number 23.4.A.0.546, the update is seeding for the D6503 model in several European regions including Hungary, Romania, Ireland and Portugal starting with Vodafone subscribers, confirmed folks at XDA.

Android Lollipop v5.1.1 is now available for Xperia Z2 users on Vodafone XDA

"Lollipop 5.1.1 started rolling out this morning to Xperia Z2. All the firmware released are all Vodafone branded for now," said a forum member.

As with any carrier-specific version, expect this firmware to have bloatware. The firmware can be flashed on any D6503 model, after which you can uninstall unnecessary apps. But if you wish to have a bloatware-free version, you will have to wait for the unbranded firmware.
