Sony has released new Lollipop build for Xperia Z2. XDA

Sony has released a new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop stock firmware build for the Xperia Z2.

This is the second build after the company seeded stock Android Lollipop firmware bearing version number 23.1.A.0.690 for a range of Xperia devices including Xperia Z2, Z2 Tablet and Z3 Tablet Compact in the middle of last month.

The new build, 23.1.A.0.726, is live for Z2 models D6503 and D6502 in the UK, the US, the Netherlands and Hong Kong.

This build seemingly addresses the X-Reality issue and Super Vivid mode. It also fixes Lollipop game issues and adds Close App button, NFC and LTE icons for data, according to XDA forum members who have installed the update.

Sony is yet to update the software page for the Xperia Z2, which mentions the current build as 23.1.A.0.690. Along with the new fixes, Xperia Z2 users should be able to experience the following Lollipop features.

  • Sony's latest software experience, with Android 5.0 - Lollipop
  • A fresh look and feel, based on Google Material Design
  • Intelligent lock screen notifications and customisable settings
  • Multi-user profiles and guest mode
  • Storage optimisation; move apps to SD card

To check the availability of the update wirelessly, head over to Settings>> About phone>> Software updates>> System updates.
