Simon got the better of Donald Young in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, in the second round to set up a quarter-final clash with Murray.
The British number one secured his place in the last eight of the competition after beating Joao Sousa in the previous round. Murray managed a 6-3, 6-4, victory in straight sets, dispatching the Portuguese in one hour and 40 minutes.
Whoever wins this game will face the winner of the match between Grigor Dimitrov and Ernests Gulbis in the semi-final.
