Aquarius returns with its second season on 16 June at 9pm ET with a commercial free two-hour premiere on NBC Network. Season 2 of David Duchovny's 1960s crime drama will find detective Sam Hodiak immersed in a new case involving missing women, as Charles Manson's threat continues to loom over Los Angeles background.

According to the official announcement, the broadcast "will have absolutely no breaks for commercials or network promos, with the only stoppage coming for a one-minute local news break during the show's second hour".

The premiere episodes are titled I'm So Tired/ Happiness is a Warm Gun. Here is the synopsis for the two-hour premiere episode:

In the season-two premiere, Det. Sam Hodiak (David Duchovny) finds himself drawn into a new case when he begins receiving mysterious packages with photos of missing girls. Charmain's (Claire Holt) risky undercover operation provides valuable information for a drug case but exposes her to great danger. Meanwhile, Charlie Manson (Gethin Anthony) and his growing family move into the home of their new benefactor, Dennis Wilson (guest star Andy Favreau), in their continuing quest to break into the music business.

Duchovny-led Aquarius is a cop drama about LAPD Detective Sam Hodiak, who goes undercover to track Charles Manson and the Manson Family before their infamous murder spree.

According to showrunner John McNamara, Hodiak and Manson are set to cross paths in season 2. He told Entertainment Weekly: "I think we have a way for Sam Hodiak and Charles Manson to spend some quality time together."

Actors Emma Dumont, Michaela McManus, Brían F. O'Byrne, Chance Kelly, Ambyr Childers, Cameron Deane Stewart, Claire Holt and Madisen Beaty will also star in season 2. Do not miss the commercial-free premiere of Aquarius on 16 June.
