Stephen Amell in his new Green Arrow costume The CW

Stephen Amell has teased that the premiere episode of Arrow season 4 will have something new that's never been done or shown before on the show. This secret "something" will apparently set the tone for the remainder of the season. What could it be?

During the Arrow panel at DragonCon 2015, Amell said an element has been added to the upcoming premiere and that it would have a major impact on the way season 4 unfolds, reports ComicBook.

"The fundamental part of the season, that nobody is really going to understand until they see the premiere, is that we do something in the premiere that we've never done in the history of the show," Amell explained. "It does something for the remainder of the season that there's going to be a constant jeopardy in the show, even if times are good. It's a really interesting technique. I think it promotes a good story. I think it will pique people's interest."

We know that the main villain in season 4 is Damien Darhk (played by Neal McDonough). As per rumours, Oliver Queen's sister Thea/ Speedy will play a major role in getting (Green) Arrow back to Star City. Maybe the big plot development in the premiere episode has something to do with the two. However, we can only guess. It remains to be seen what sets the tone for the reportedly lighter (as compared to season 3), mystical and magical season 4! Listen to Amell's comments in the video below.

Season 4 sees Team Arrow facing off against Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E., the organization that killed John Diggle's brother. Meanwhile, Malcolm Merlyn has been promoted to the rank of Ra's al Ghul, leading to the decision to resurrect Sara Lance using the Lazarus Pit. Arrow season 4 premieres on 7 October at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW.
