Watt has certainly been in impressive form in the Under-21 Premier League where he has scored four goals in as many games, while Eastmond has also appeared on three occasions for Terry Burton's side.

Both players have previously been sent out on-loan to try and gain some valuable first team experience and it seems manager Arsene Wenger is keen for their learning to continue away from the Emirates.

Eastmond has twice been loaned away from Arsenal, making six appearances for Millwall, before joining Wycombe in February this year and playing 14 times as he was unable to prevent them being relegated from League One.

Watt has also consistently been sent out on-loan and has actually had five different spells at clubs in the last two years. He has played 50 league games for the likes of Leeds United, Southend, Sheffield Wednesday and Crawley Town.

Both players have had chances in the Arsenal first team and will now look to make an impact at Colchester in order to convince Wenger that they do have a future at Arsenal.

"Everyone at Arsenal wishes Craig and Sanchez well for their time with the Essex club," read a short statement on the Arsenal website.

The duo will hope to turn around the fortunes of the Essex club after a difficult start to the season in which they are yet to win a single league game.

Colchester currently find themselves in the bottom four, having picked up just four points from their opening eight games.
