Arsenal and Newcastle United's first match this season was against each other, which ended in a goalless draw. Since then both the teams have done well in the Premier League.

Arsenal are in a stunning form at the moment, registering four back-to-back wins against Blackburn, Sunderland, Tottenham and Liverpool in the Premier league. The Gunners silenced all their critics by nearly qualifying for the next round of the Champions League after facing a humiliating 4-0 defeat to AC Milan in the first leg of the round of sixteen.

Arsenal, whose eleven players are sidelined due to injuries, will be trying to register their fifth consecutive win in this match.

Meanwhile, Newcastle, who have ended their last two games in a disappointing draw, have been somewhat disappointing, conceding eight goals in their last three games. However, the Magpies (under Alan Pardew) have done very well this season as compared to their last season, where they finished 12<sup>th. Newcastle will be trying their best to resist the strike force of the Gunners.
