Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck crashed a Superman-themed birthday part in Detroit during a break from filming the anticipated 2016 blockbuster.

Affleck will of course be playing Bruce Wayne and Batman in the Zack Snyder picture, so presumably he only went to the two-year-old's party to tell him how much better the Dark Knight is than that boyscout Superman.

Affleck attended the youngster's party at Detroit Kid City in Southfield on Sunday (13 July) with his wife Jennifer Garner and their own two-year-old Samuel, reports the Detroit Free Press.

"I spoke with Ben for 10 or 15 minutes and he was very pleased with the facility. He was very interested in getting a Detroit Kid City out in L.A.," said Garrett Dixon of Detroit Kid City. "He said they had a blast and will definitely be in contact with us."

Detroit Kid City offers miniature Detroit for children to play in, complete with Barber Shop, car factory, pizzeria and school. Mark Wahlberg visited with his own children during the filming Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Affleck alongside Henry Cavil as the Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Laurence Fishburne.

The film is set for release on 19 April 2016.
