Jena Malone's role in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been a mystery since she was cast over a year ago, spotted on set and then much to fans dismay, cut from the film's cinematic version. Many DC Comics lovers speculated that The Hunger Games star could be portraying Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl, who went on to become Oracle but there were some hopefuls out there that believed she might even be playing a female version of Batman's sidekick Robin thanks to her signature red hair.

While we know neither of those rumours are the case now, the question still remains – especially since the intrigue sparked up again when she was glimpsed in the trailer for Batman v Superman – Ultimate Edition, available for home entertainment later this year. Luckily for fans who cant wait to find out her role then, that a copy of the extended version recently leaked online and it offered up some pretty big clues.

In the credits, Malone is listed as playing Jenet Klyburn; a character lifted straight from the comics who works as a S.T.A.R. Labs forensic scientist in Metropolis and has allied associations with Superman. In the trailer, she appears to be talking to Amy Adams' Lois Lane, which supports the idea that she's more affiliated with Clark Kent than she is Bruce Wayne like originally believed.

One of the main benefits of owning the Ultimate Edition according to producers and director Zack Snyder is that the plot will be a lot less nonsensical and things will make much more sense than in the final cut. Malone being Kylburn ties into this idea, as she may well help Lois discover why she was able to recover one of Lex Luthor's bullets during the desert ambush towards the beginning of the film. A sub-plot that wasn't touched upon again throughout the finished version of the film.

In addition to that, according to, a video was posted to Reddit from YouTube titled Batman V Superman – Ultimate Edition – End Credits which also saw Malone credited as Klyburn. However, the video has since been removed.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition will become available on Digital HD on 28 June 2016 and Blu-ray on 19 July 2016 in the US. In the UK, fans can purchase it from 1 August along with either a Superman or a Batman statue.
