The #CameronMustGo campaign on Twitter shows no sign of abating with 700,000 tweets posted over the last seven days.
Campaigners are now pushing to hit the one million mark by Thursday.
The tweets have been powered not only by politically motivated left-wingers, but ordinary folk fed up of experiencing "frozen pay" while struggling to pay their bills.
Even recent government pledges to invest £15bn in UK roads and plough an extra £2bn in the NHS have been criticised as convenient ploys six months before the general election.
Linda Sgoluppi tweeted: "Cynically making money available for road repairs just before an election after years of potholes. #CameronMustGo."
