The latest episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden aired a clip of the host in a special Carpool Karaoke segment with none other than Adele. The two sang a song from the artiste's latest album 25, while also taking on a Nicki Minaj rap and singing a Spice Girls' number.

Now, the show's producers have confirmed that the next guest will be another mega name from the music industry — Sir Elton John. Executive Producer Ben Winston told Vulture the episode had already been filmed and would air following the Super Bowl on 8 February.

"Elton is a really iconic name," said Winston. "Whatever age you are, you love him. He's got a back catalogue that goes for years. When we booked him, we were just punching the air."

While the Adele segment was shot in London over the Christmas holidays, the Elton John drive was filmed in Los Angeles. "But it was London weather. It was pissing rain. And it was fantastic," Winston informed, adding: "Elton is just the most charming, wonderful guy."

The idea behind the Carpool Karaoke resulted from a segment done with George Michael in 2011. It was followed by documentary called When Corden Met Barlow, in which host Cordon drove Gary Barlow around the places he grew up while discussing his work and history. The two also had a short duet session in the car as Barlow's music played.

Since then the segment has had guests like Mariah Carrey, Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, Rod Stewart and One Direction.
