The Castle Season 7 premiere is just days away and to build more excitement among fans, ABC has unveiled a sneak peek video of the upcoming episode.

Season 7 is touted to be the most exciting season of the crime investigation drama as the series will focus on an emotional Kate Beckett as she investigates the disappearance of her love Rick Castle.

The upcoming season is rumoured to unfold the secrets of Rick's life and TV Line suspects the couple will get married before the end of 2014 and become 'Caskett' in Season 7.

Castle's Season 6 finale was supposed to feature the most awaited wedding of Rick and Beckett but the shocking twist in the episode has left fans bewildered with the mystery novelist, who was on his way to marry his love, meeting with a fatal accident.

The official synopsis for Season 7 premiere episode titled 'Driven,' reads:

"In the seventh-season opener, Beckett embarks on her hardest case as she waits at the scene of Castle's accident and learns details about the car crash."

Meanwhile, showrunner David Amann told TV Guide that the second episode will give a brief idea about what is going on in their favourite series.

"After the second episode, the audience will have some but not all of the answers about what exactly is going on," Amann told the website.

"It's a sufficient amount [of resolution] that the characters can move and get back to life as they knew it, but the effects of what happened to Castle will re-emerge and re-assert themselves later in the season," he added.

Fans were left disappointed when the marriage went kaput in the last season but show creator Andrew Marlowe has teased about the couple's wedding during the seventh season.

"We have something planned that we're kind of excited about, and we hope that people come back and play along. We know that we owe them a wedding that accurately reflects who Castle and Beckett are," Marlowe told TV Line.

Castle returns with Season 7 on Monday, 29 September on ABC.
