In a recent Deadpool promo (below), Ryan Reynolds – as the Merc With a Mouth – took a few good-natured jabs at Wolverine and the Hugh Jackman starring film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which Reynolds was a part of too. Yahoo! caught up with Jackman recently and asked him for his take on the hilarious video.
"Love it. It's just brilliant. I mean, I love Ryan, he's a good mate of mine. He's so fantastic," Jackman said (via ComicBookMovie). However, when asked if Wolvie could take Deadpool in a fight, the X-Men star replied with a grin, "A hundred percent!"
Meanwhile, Jackman shared an update of sorts on his much-awaited last outing as Wolverine. "We have a script. A full script," the actor told Collider about his third solo Wolverine film. "...To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished—well, it's not finished, but we're getting super close—as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps...yeah, it's sooner rather than later."
When asked if he knows when and where they'll start shooting, Jackman – without giving away much – said, "I don't have a firm date yet. My thing and I've told you and I've told everyone, it's my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it's perfect, bang, we'll go."
Either the actor is being extremely secretive about the project or he really is waiting for the script to be polished and ready before the project hits the floor. Either way, if filming does not commence soon, 20th Century Fox might have to move the current release date which is set at 3 March 2017.
