Sean 'Diddy' Combs reportedly suffered a severe head injury during a fight with Jamaican drug lord Christopher 'Dudus' Coke at Fort Dix prison in New Jersey last Friday.

The alleged confrontation followed reports about Combs' privileges behind bars. Prison sources claimed that subsequent raids led to phones being confiscated from inmates, including Coke, and that fellow prisoners blamed the rapper for the loss of those privileges.

Emergency Treatment for Diddy

Multiple sources inside Fort Dix told TMZ that the two men came to blows, leaving Combs with a head injury serious enough to require treatment outside the prison. An ambulance reportedly transported him for emergency care early on Saturday morning.

He was conscious and speaking when he returned before sunrise, with the injury reportedly not considered life-threatening. The medical emergency was subsequently linked to the alleged confrontation with another inmate.

An earlier report claimed Combs had struck his head on a bunk bed, although the exact circumstances of the injury remain unclear.

Neither account establishes whether the reported contact with a bed formed part of the alleged fight. That detail remains unresolved.

A representative for Combs told Page Six they 'have no way of independently verifying' the alleged fight.

'Our concern is for Sean's health and well-being,' the spokesperson added.

The publication also requested comment from the Federal Bureau of Prisons but reported receiving no response. IBTimes UK cannot independently verify whether the alleged fight took place, how Combs sustained his injury or the claim that phone seizures prompted a confrontation.

Phone Raids Reportedly Fuelled Anger Towards Diddy

The prison sources linked the alleged dispute to restrictions introduced after coverage of Combs' life in custody. They described Coke and other inmates as angry with the rapper because the reporting had drawn attention to their privileges.

NBC News had reported allegations that Combs was living lavishly in prison, with access to a contraband phone, prescription medication and alcohol. Those allegations formed the background to the searches described by the prison sources.

At least two raids followed, with officials confiscating mobile phones from inmates, the sources claimed. Coke was reportedly among those whose phones were seized.

The prison sources described repercussions extending beyond Combs, with the loss of phones affecting Coke and other inmates following the raids. Their account attributes the alleged fight to anger over those consequences, although the claimed motive remains unverified by IBTimes UK.

Coke has been serving a 23-year sentence since 2012, the report stated. Sources portrayed him as an influential figure inside Fort Dix despite Combs being the prison's most prominent celebrity.

Why Diddy Was Already in Segregation

Combs was already being held in the Special Housing Unit, described in the reporting as solitary confinement. The alleged confrontation occurred while he was out for his daily break, the prison sources claimed.

They reported that both men subsequently received two weeks in the unit as punishment for the fight. Combs' placement there therefore preceded the alleged clash, while the reported disciplinary action followed it.

Combs, 56, was convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025. He subsequently received a 50-month prison sentence in October that year.
