Drake confesses his love for Rihanna during New York concert

The duo were first rumoured to be dating in 2009.

Drake declared his love for Rihanna when he performed alongside rapper Future (real name Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn) at Madison Square Garden on 6 August. Rumours regarding the two dating again were reported in May. The duo were first rumoured to be dating in 2009.

"If you've got love for Rihanna in New York City ... cuz you know I've got love for Rihanna," Drake told the sold-out crowd before performing few of RiRi's songs, according to PageSix.

After confessing his love for the Umbrella hit-maker, the rapper did not shy away from flirting with the women in the crowd.

"Where's all my New York women tonight at, cuz I've got a night off after this," the One Dance singer said.

A few days before sharing his love for the songstress, Drake told the crowd at his OVO Fest in Toronto: "We might have to go half on a baby!" The 28-year-old singer was on stage with the rapper but she did not turn down the idea.

A source previously told E! News, Drake would like Rihanna to be his girlfriend but she was not ready to put a "title on them".

"Rihanna and Drake are hanging out a bit more lately. Rihanna loves Drake, but is still not ready to put a title on them," the source said.

"Drake would make her his girlfriend in a second if he could. It's more on Rihanna, though. They both care about each other and are having a good time spending time with each other. Drake has expressed to Rihanna that he only wants to date her and only her, but she wants to take day by day this time around."

"Things are great though and their connection is really strong," the source noted. "Things are progressing nicely."
