Their seven-year marriage ended amicably in 2012 but Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony remain closer than ever. The former couple, who share eight-year-old twins Emme Maribel and Maximillian David, stunned fans by sharing a kiss onstage at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards.

The moment occurred after the friendly exes performed a duet of the classic 1984 Spanish song Olvidame y Pega la Vuelta, which they are releasing as a single, and Lopez presented him with the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year award.

Delivering her speech entirely in Spanish, she described Anthony as a "living legend," and "pure artist". She said: "He's not only the person of the year, he's the person of all time."

As she continued to ladle on the praise, the crowd started chanting "Beso!"−Spanish for kiss− as they egged on the former spouses. Lopez eventually conceded and planted a kiss on his lips and the pair laughed off the moment.

However, the impromptu display did not go down well with some viewers, with many slamming their actions as "disrespectful" in light of the fact that Anthony is a married man. He tied the knot with his third wife, model Shannon de Lima, in 2015. Lopez recently ended her five-year romance with toy boy dancer Casper Smart.

"His wife must be seething," one fan said while other noted that his wife "was nowhere in sight... for a lifetime achievement award event".

Anthony shrugged off the excitement of the crowd to dedicate his award to his children and fans. The father-of-five said: "I want to dedicate this award to my kids. You guys have sacrificed more than anyone to see daddy standing here after 30 years. You guys are living this moment with me. I want to dedicate this award to everyone that said no to me, who said I would never make it, who told me it was impossible, I want to say, 'This is for you.'"
