It's the last day of the transfer window, with plenty of expected last minute moves touted to be on the agenda before the deadline tonight at 11pm.

Last night's big news was that Andy Carroll has joined West Ham on loan. The coup for the recently promoted Hammers will see them pay the player's £80,000 wages in full, freeing up funds for Liverpool to finally make their move for Clint Dempsey.

Fulham are expected to announce the signing of Man United reject Dimitar Berbatov today, so will be less reluctant to see Dempsey depart.

But it's not Liverpool the player could be heading to but Villa, after the club accepted their surprise offer for the player.

Another surprise move could be that of Michael Essien from Chelsea to Arsenal after the Gunners were linked with the player. And he's not the only Chelsea player who could be shown the door as Liverpool are looking to take striker Daniel Sturridge out on loan.

And this doesn't even take into account Tottenham, where Andre Villas-Boas is expected to emulate his predecessor Harry Redknapp with a flurry of last minute bids. Players on the Spurs radar include Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian, Brazilian forward Leandro Damiao, Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila , Porto's Joao Moutinho and Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

They'll be plenty of other transfer moves today right through the league, and who knows, maybe even Michael Owen will find a club. To keep up to date with the latest deadline deals, follow our live blog on IBTimes.co.uk
