Indian beauty Freida Pinto looked no less gorgeous and in a totally new avatar as she posed for Yu Tsai for an editorial piece entitled The Elegant Resistance to be featured in Flaunt Magazine US July 2012.

The Slumdog Millionaire star sported a short, curly wig hiding her otherwise long brunette locks and posed for a 1950s-inspired glamorous shoot.

The 27-year-old has been titled as "Freida Pinto is Museum Quality Beautiful" by the publication, to which, one would definitely agree after seeing the photos.

The shoot has the actress styled in a green Bottega Veneta corset dress leaning on the heels of her stilettos, showing off her cleavage and a thigh-high split. In another shot, she had much off a rough tough look - modelled in a leather polka dot Versace corset and matching skinny jeans from the luxury label and completed the look with a Swarovski crystal cross necklace, coiled bracelet and hoop earrings. Her expressions were impeccable, balancing with theme and looks.

During the interview, Pinto talked about developing opportunities for women in the Indian film industry and praised Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor for achieving the goal.

"Now, it seems to me, even taking Indian cinema in consideration, I feel like this year we have kind of experienced a shift in humanity. In India, actually, there has been a large disparity in how much a female and male actor gets paid, but this year, one actress changed all that," Pinto told Flaunt magazine.

She expressed disappointment about rumours circulating in her hometown that she is unfriendly.

"When I was promoting this big-budget film, some Indian media reported that I was being a diva on set, and that's the reason I did not want to come to India to promote the film," she said, "I'm like, 'What? I'm in America. That's why I can't promote the film in India.' It's not easy to be in two places at once. It's not true."

Pinto made her feature film debut in 2008 in Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle playing the role of Latika, the girl with whom Jamal (Dev Patel) is in love.
