Samsung Galaxy S4 devices have been hogging the limelight for quite some time, as a spate of leaked specifications, photos and rumours of upcoming Galaxy devices have surfaced online recently. Now, the leaked press photos of the rugged version of Galaxy S4 also known as "Galaxy S4 Active", have hit the web, courtesy of @evleaks.

As Android Authority notes, the first leaked image of the Galaxy S4 Active model GT-I9252 with AT&T branding (the red colour version) was spotted online a few weeks ago in Crotia. Nevertheless, the newly leaked press image of model SGH-I537 (in dark grey colour) reportedly looks similar in design to the previously leaked red version of the same handset. The image portrays a metallic grey case with bolts on its back and three physical buttons on the front.

Despite the design similarities in the two versions (red and grey) of the leaked images, the grey variant features the Galaxy S4 Active product name (not available in the red version) in addition to the striking AT&T logo at the back. However, the rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, as the report from Unlockr suggests that the handset will feature another variant in teal colour.

The water and dust-proof variant of Galaxy S4, the S4 Active, will reportedly sport a 5in 1080p Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 16 GB of storage and eight-megapixel camera. The device will feature connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE, and run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz interface out of the box.

The S4 Active is not yet officially announced, but it could actually make its debut at the upcoming Samsung Premiere in London on 20 June. According to an earlier IBTimes UK report, the recent Samsung invite clearly suggests that some major Galaxy product along with Galaxy S4 Active could be unveiled at the London event.

Now, that claim is further strengthened, as the leaked press photo reveals 21 June as the possible release date for the highly-anticipated successor to Galaxy S4. It is widely speculated that the smartphone will debut in US through AT&T carrier. But, there is still no word on either its price or release date for US.
