Two men have been charged after a man was shot at Ridley Road on market in Hackney, north-east London Google Maps

Metropolitan Police detectives have charged two men on suspicion of a firearm offence and intending to endanger life after a man was shot at Ridley Road market in Dalston.

The man, who is thought to be in his thirties, was shot at Ridley Road, north-east London, on Sunday (16 August). Twelve people - 10 men and two women - were initially arrested after the man was found with gunshot wounds at the market, at about 2pm.

On Tuesday (18 August), Jordan Wakefield, 22 of, Buckland Court, St John's Estate, London and 27-year-old Jonathon Joseph of Montague Road, London, were charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Both appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on the same day and Joseph was remanded in custody while Wakefield was bailed. Both will appear at Wood Green Crown Court on 1 September. Ten other people - seven men and three women - aged between 21 and 58 years, arrested in connection with the investigation have been bailed to dates in September and October pending further enquiries.
