Errol Brown has died after losing his battle to liver cancer. He was aged 71.

The Hot Chocolate singer, who produced some of the biggest disco tunes of the 1970s and 1980s with the likes of You Sexy Thing and It Started With A Kiss died at his home in the Bahamas.

His manager Phil Dale, said Brown was "a wonderful gentleman". He said: "There was always music around wherever he was.

"I've been with him in the middle of Australia and he has got an idea for a song and started writing."

Brown leaves a wife and two daughters. He was made an MBE in 2003 for his services to music.
