Ibiza Rocks, the well-known party hotel in San Antonio, Ibiza, is under renewed pressure over guest safety after the death of a British teenager led to the immediate suspension of all events. This latest tragedy marks the third fatal incident involving British holidaymakers at the hotel within just a few months.

Teenager Dies in Fall at Ibiza Rocks

The most recent incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 21 July 2025, when a 19-year-old British man died instantly after falling from a third-floor balcony at the hotel. Emergency services responded quickly but were unable to save him.

Local police are investigating, with early evidence suggesting the fall may have been accidental. CCTV footage is being reviewed and witnesses are being interviewed to establish the full circumstances.

'We are investigating the death of a 19-year-old British man at a hotel in San Antonio in Ibiza,' authorities told Metro UK. Police confirmed the fall was from the third floor to an outside part of the complex.

Second Death in Weeks Raises Questions Over Safety

This tragedy comes less than a fortnight after the death of 26-year-old Evan Thomson from Aberdeen, who also fell to his death at Ibiza Rocks while celebrating a belated birthday with friends. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Evan's family have spoken out, criticising the hotel's safety measures and the immediate response to the incident. His sister, Teila, said there was a lack of adequate precautions, calling the hotel's reaction 'completely heartbreaking' and urging for changes to prevent further loss.

'Ibiza is known for its partying and it just stuns me that they don't have higher safety precautions,' Teila told The Sun. Friends also expressed concern that music at the hotel resumed shortly after Evan's death.

Hotel Suspends All Events Amid Mounting Criticism

In the wake of the latest fatality, Ibiza Rocks management released a statement on 21 July announcing the suspension of all events.

'We are deeply shocked and devastated by the recent incidents that have tragically occurred. Our priority is to support those affected and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and to fully assist the authorities with their investigations,' the statement read.

'Given the seriousness of the situation and out of respect for those involved, we believe it is right to pause our advertised events programme at this time.' Customers are being contacted directly by email.

This decision comes amid growing calls for a thorough review of safety protocols at the venue, which has long been a magnet for partygoers from across Europe.

Earlier Death Adds to Growing Concern

The hotel was already under scrutiny in April 2025, when a 33-year-old British woman died in her room due to unrelated medical reasons. The string of incidents has heightened public and official concerns about safety standards at Ibiza's best-known party hotel.

Authorities in Ibiza continue to investigate, with a focus on reviewing video footage and gathering statements from witnesses. The future of Ibiza Rocks' events now hangs in the balance as officials and the local community demand urgent improvements in safety to prevent further tragedies.
