Brad Pitt reportedly invited his former wife Jennifer Aniston for dinner when they both were in London recently. The Horrible Bosses actress is said to have declined the offer as she thought meeting Pitt "would be an insult" to her husband Justin Theroux.

Pitt and Aniston split in January 2005 after five years of marriage.

According to Heat magazine, the 52-year-old actor – who was in London to promote his movie Allied - upon learning that the 47-year-old actress was also in the city - invited her for dinner but she declined the offer. Aniston was in London to promote her new movie Office Christmas Party at the BBC.

"[Brad Pitt] He called her and they had a brief conversation. But Jen [Jennifer Aniston], who is married to actor Justin Theroux told Brad that, while she supported him in spirit, she didn't have time to see him," a source told Heat magazine. (Via The Irish Independent).

"She is happily married and meeting Brad would be an insult to Justin. She knows what matters and it's her marriage," the source added.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on 19 September. At the time when the news of the split broke, the Friends star was dragged into the duo's divorce drama and also saw her trend on Twitter.

Pitt has reportedly apologised to Aniston via email after her named was dragged into the drama surrounding his relationship fallout with the Original Sin actress.

In September, an alleged abuse incident aboard a private plane between Pitt and 15-year-old son Maddox was widely reported. However, the charges against Pitt have been dropped by Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI.

"The FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation," FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Brad has filed for joint custody of his six children with Jolie. The former couple share six children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, 8. The two got married after meeting on the sets of their movie Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005.
