If Jhene Aiko was trying to quash rumours of a secret romance with rapper Big Sean, she may want to try a different approach. The Bed Peace songstress has reignited speculation surrounding her personal life after officially filing for a divorce from New York record producer Dot Da Genius.
TMZ reports that the 28-year-old pulled the plug on her marriage by citing 'irreconcilable differences' and is asking the judge to deny her soon-to-be ex-husband spousal support. In an interesting twist the documents, which were obtained by E! News, state the former couple's got hitched on July 26, 2014. It goes on to note that the pair separated in June 2015.
News of her marital woes comes weeks after she was linked to her collaborator Big Sean, who she kissed on stage at a recent concert in Anaheim. The pair, who worked together on the album Twenty88 and were performing their new song On The Way when they locked lips.
They have also shared a number of images on social media in recent months. One showed the pair posing in front of a private jet with his arm was around her. "I need them to be together," one fan wrote as another chimed in with, "They're dating...That's for sure."
Earlier this year, Aiko insisted that her relationship with Big Sean was strictly professional, telling Flaunt magazine that having chemistry made it easier to make music together. "It was fun for me to do something that was not so serious as far as me telling all of my deepest, darkest thoughts and being extra introspective. I don't really record love songs, "she said." I usually express it when it's gone bad. It was good to have songs from when it was a happy moment. It's us having fun. And it's also a look into our future too, you know, maybe..."
Aiko, has a seven-year-old daughter named Namiko from her relationship with r'n'b singer O'Ryan, and Big Sean is single after ending his romance with Ariana Grande at the end of 2015.
