Jim Carrey's appearance at the 2026 César Awards in Paris on Thursday, 26 February, has reignited plastic surgery rumours, after photos published by the Daily Mail prompted some fans to question whether the 64-year-old comedian has altered his face. The National Enquirer reports, citing an unnamed source, that Carrey is 'struggling accepting getting older' and that friends are worried he is sliding into a late-life crisis.

Carrey has kept much of his personal life tightly guarded in recent years, which is why a single red-carpet moment can suddenly feel like a full-blown public audit. This time, the chatter was not only about his looks but also about a relationship the report says he chose to make visible, stepping out with girlfriend Min Ah and addressing her in his acceptance speech.

Rumours, of course, are not proof. Anonymous sourcing is not evidence. Still, celebrity culture rarely waits for the nice, neat thing called certainty.

Jim Carrey's César Night And The Surgery Talk

The National Enquirer describes the reaction as immediate, with social media comments ranging from disbelief to the familiar plea that stars should 'leave the fillers & surgery alone.' It is the kind of online chorus that treats a close-up photo like a medical record, as if lighting, angles and fatigue do not exist.

The report positions the 'new look' as the spark and Carrey's age as the supposed fuel. Its unnamed source insists the actor is 'obviously' struggling with ageing, a word doing a lot of heavy lifting for a claim that, in truth, can only be guessed at from the outside. Even if Carrey has had cosmetic work, there are no documentation and no on-the-record confirmation available as of this writing, only the suggestion that friends are 'worried.'

Jim Carrey, Min Ah And The 'Late-Life Crisis' Frame

In the National Enquirer report, Min Ah is central to that storyline. She is reportedly 32, 'literally half his age,' and their relationship has magnified Carrey's fears about getting older.

The source argues that being with someone younger has pushed Carrey into a 'self-improvement kick,' adding, 'No doubt being with Min, who is so much younger, has magnified his fears.' The same source paints him as competitive and self-critical, suggesting he compares himself to the women he dates.

What can be verified more cleanly is that Carrey publicly thanked Min Ah during his César speech. 'Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah. I love you, Min Ah,' he said, according to People. On its face, it reads less like panic and more like a decision to be seen, and to be generous in public.

The National Enquirer source leans into that point too, in a way that almost undercuts the surgery drama. 'He's been very happy with her,' the source says, arguing that Carrey going out in public with Min Ah, given his privacy, 'says a whole lot about how serious he is.'

Then comes the quieter line, the one that lands because it feels plausible without pretending to know the unknowable. 'The irony is that he really didn't need to do this. She's totally into him as is,' the source adds. That might be true. It might be projection. It might be wishful thinking dressed up as insider knowledge.
